Concert by Evan Christopher & Clarinet Road: "The Sounds of Storyville."
Dr. Charles Chamberlain, an expert on New Orleans music has had years of experience curating the most valuable artifacts of the Crescent City's musical history through past posts at the Hogan Jazz Archives and also the Louisiana State Museum. The exquisite, $5-million renovation of one of the last remaining buildings dating back to the days of Storyvlle makes Little Gem Saloon the best new music venue in the city. Executive Chef, Robert Bruce, did extensive research to anchor their menu in the classic Creole traditions and musical director, Marc Stone brings a deep respect for tradition but also the vision to move it forward. Evan Christopher's personal brand of "contemporary early-jazz" is the perfect fit for this unique experience.
The tour will meet at 3:30 across the street from the Historic New Orleans Collection's Williams Research Center, located at 410 Chartres Street. It concludes at 6pm at the Little Gem Saloon for the musical presentation and cocktail reception. A 6:30 seating is followed by dinner at 7pm.
